Delhi: His life is the kind of spectacle that television
thrives on. One reason perhaps is that Rahul Mahajan
understands television very well.
Not so long ago, when he was still an unknown entity,
Rahul Mahajan was a television producer for Doordarshan
but the spotlight turned on him, in May 2006 when
he lost his father to an alleged fratricide and
even before that faded in public memory, came another
shocker.

Sikh carnage was wrong: Rahul

November 18 Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi
condemned the anti-Sikh violence in the aftermath
of Indira Gandhi’s assassination, saying “whatever
happened was wrong”.

price cuts, CEOs divided

called on sectors like housing, automobiles, hotels
and airlines to cut prices to boost demand
and beat the slowdown. The auto sector ruled

Dhoni pulls out of Lanka Test series
India's ODI captain MS Dhoni
has pulled out of Sri Lanka Test series to be held later
this month. BCCI selection committee will be meeting
in Mumbai on Tuesday to pick team for Sri Lanka. Dhoni
has recently complained of fatigue, citing excessive
cricket as reason. India is set to play three Test and
five one-day internationals in Sri Lanka, with the first
Test starting June 23. Dhoni's Indian team lost to Sri
Lanka in the Asia Cup finals on Sunday.

Bangalore: The Board of Control
for Cricket in India (BCCI) will honour the victorious
Indian team of 1983 World Cup to mark the 25th anniversary
of a historic win scripted by Kapil Dev and his "Devils.
As part of events to celebrate the memorable event,
BCCI will felicitate the winning team at a special event
in New Delhi on June 22 and send the heroes of 1983
to Lords to relive the day (June 25) it lifted the third
ODI World Cup, beating the West Indies at the venue
25 years ago.

Super Kings dash Mumbai's hopes, storm

Hyderabad: Chennai Super Kings
survived some anxious moments to clinch a seven-wicket
victory over Deccan Chargers and reach the semifinal
of the Indian Premier League in the city on Tuesday
night. Electing to bat, Deccan Chargers put on 147/7
helped by Venugopal Rao (46) and Ravi Teja (40). Super
Kings run-chase stuttered in the middle overs and they
