Not so long ago, when he was still an unknown entity, Rahul Mahajan was a television producer for Doordarshan but the spotlight turned on him, in May 2006 when he lost his father to an alleged fratricide and even before that faded in public memory, came another shocker.

Amritsar, November 18 Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi condemned the anti-Sikh violence in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination, saying “whatever happened was wrong”.

FM calls for price cuts, CEOs divided
NEW DELHI: Finance minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday called on sectors like housing, automobiles, hotels and airlines to cut prices to boost demand
and beat the slowdown.

US moves to crack down on Internet gambling
Washington, Nov 13: The US Treasury Department and Federal Reserve Board approved regulations on Wednesday designed to crack down on unlawful Internet gambling. In a so-called "final rule," the US authorities outlined the regulations aimed at implementing an act passed by the US Congress in 2006 which seeks to prohibit illegal gambling on the Web.

London, July 14: A Cheshire-based man was flooded with 287 letters from a bank, all arriving in the same post, confirming that his credit card had been cancelled. Twenty-nine-year-old John Tiemens received the confirmations letters from Capital One after he cancelled his card to get a better rate with another bank, so that he could pay for his honeymoon with his fiancee Louise Marland.
